Kanella (Nelly) Tragousti
Born in 1959 in Amaliada, Elis, Greece.
She studied French Philology at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens and Semiotics at the École Pratique des Hautes Études of the Sorbonne in Paris, specializing in the relationship between image and language in painting, photography, and cinema.
She attended painting courses with Katerina Mertzani at the Open Art Workshop of the Municipality of Athens, hosted at the Ora Gallery, as well as printmaking courses in the class of Jens Jensen at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK).
She has worked in Athens on various television and film productions as a translator, screenwriter, and photographer.
Since 1987, she has lived and worked in Berlin. She has held numerous solo exhibitions of photography and painting in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Cyprus, and Greece.
