Nadiya Spiller

Nadiya Spiller is a German-Ukrainian artist and ophthalmologist based in Berlin. She developed an original Pixel Art technique that transforms the digital pixel into a tactile sculptural element.

Inspired by traditional Ukrainian cross-stitch embroidery, she combines texture paste, acrylic and oil paints, LEGO®️ bricks, and 24-karat gold to create multilayered relief paintings. As an ophthalmologist, her fascination with visual perception shapes her artistic practice: from close up, viewers see only individual tactile pixels; from a distance, the brain assembles them into a complete image.

Her work explores perception, cultural identity, and the resilience of Ukrainian women, creating a dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary visual culture.
