MUSICIANS

Pianist and singer Maroulita de Kol and violinist Penelope Gkika (aka Twin Flames Ensemble) have been working together for more than a decade, researching and reinterpreting the stories and musical material of Greek traditional music. Their projects celebrate the belief that tradition is a living organism that grows and evolves based on cultural dialogue, which empowers the idea of community and encourages a sense of togetherness. In addition to their duo project, they have founded three Berlin-based bands that are involved in similar sonic research - Reverse Mode (album Mora), Arcangel Trio (album The Golden Sheep) and Farmagia Ensemble, all of which actively perform around Europe.
