WOVEN myths: zen tangle workshop

Workshop
12:00-13:30

12:00–13:30 Woven Myths: Zen Tangle Workshop with Irini Michas. Discover the meditative power of Zentangle—a method where "no mistakes" are made, and every stroke leads to a state of calm focus. We transform the myth of Medusa into a structured artistic framework, using the graceful, winding forms of serpents to guide our patterns.

By replacing the fear of "making a mistake" with the simplicity of repetitive, deliberate lines, you will turn a blank tile into a complex, beautiful tapestry. This session invites you to embrace the flow, find stillness in the complexity, and create your own mythic masterpiece one stroke at a time.

Jewelry & Story Telling Workshop -kids

Workshop
14:00-15:30

14:00–15:30 Jewelry & Story Telling Workshop with Lilian Syrigouand Cristina Crăciun - Kids Edition. Every year, storyteller Cristina Craciun and jewellery designer Lilian Syrigou invite children and adults to dive into the experience of a myth from around the world through an interactive journey of storytelling and jewellery making.

In 2026, the 3rd year of KappArt festival, participants will interact with the Greek myth of Medusa through questions, imagination, play, and expression of four feelings: Hope, Fear, Anger, and Love. During the workshop, the myth becomes a personal amulet — a small piece of jewellery shaped by the feelings, symbols, and ideas discovered along the way.

A playful and imaginative workshop about feelings, transformation, self-perception, and the stories we weave together.

EnstiTHESIS

Performative Visual Art Interaction
20:00–20:30

Sophia Kyriakouhas incorporated jewellery-making into her artistic practice, placing it within a broader framework of actions with environmental implications. Through these works, she connects thoughts, attitudes and phenomena of the contemporary era with her visual practice. Here, jewellery functions as a symbolic representation of the world. The pieces are wearable and, in some cases, can cover the entire chest, where the heart is located, the central organ of the human body, associated with the generation and transmission of electrical activity. For this reason, one of the jewellery pieces refers to the heart’s electrical activity, bearing markings related to the frequencies associated with its functioning in states of rest and alertness.

The other pieces incorporate elements of copper and components of electrical circuits, such as cables, cords and electrical network terminals and find objects. These materials carry and embody concepts associated with the organic processes of nature: polarity, magnetism, connectivity, and the storage or transmission of positive and negative charges.Through the coexistence of organic and artificial materials, the jewellery evokes archetypal concepts associated with a collective, universal principle—one that can be traced through the processes of transformation and fermentation that take place in nature. Body, material and electromagnetic element thus converge within a unified field, where jewellery moves beyond its function as an object and becomes a carrier of energy, connection and transformation.

The Inner Ritual Of Medusa

Performance
20:30–21:30

The Inner Ritual of Medusa

The Inner Ritual of Medusa is an interdisciplinary performance that explores the inner landscape of the human soul through the symbolic figure of Medusa—not as a monster, but as an archetype of transformation, reflection, and self-knowledge.

Through live music, spoken word, movement, ritual actions, and painting, the audience is invited to cross a symbolic threshold between the visible and the invisible worlds.

Four essential human forces gradually emerge from silence:

Hope | Fear | Anger | Love

Each becomes a living ritual, confronting both performer and spectator with questions that are intentionally left unanswered.

The mirrors carried by Medusa become symbols of introspection rather than judgment, inviting each spectator to recognize themselves within the performance.

The work unfolds as a journey from fragmentation toward connection, where music, movement, spoken word, and visual creation merge into a single ritual of transformation.

Built around Areti's original compositions, the Cretan lyra with sympathetic strings and the classical guitar come together in a musical dialogue that draws from the modal traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean, contemporary art music, and improvisation.

The two musicians explore a more intimate and flexible musical interaction, where improvisation and interplay become essential elements of the performance.

The performance also features special guest Maroulita de Kol, who appears on arrangements from the musical traditions of the Eastern Mediterranean. Her vocals and synthesizer enrich the ensemble's sound with atmospheric textures and subtle electronic elements, opening new sonic landscapes while remaining rooted in the modal character of the repertoire.
